My name is Laura Shanley, and I am the Founder of By Modestine®️.  

 

As a Certified Tea Sommelier, I create organic wellness teas to support women’s health and well-being.  I also provide wellness workshops to women seeking to elevate and enhance their wellness experience so that they can feel better in their mind and body.  

 

I did the Marketing With Confidence Programme with Claire and have certainly not only gained knowledge, but enjoyed my experience working with her.

 

Before working with Claire, I lacked the confidence to show up on Instagram.  I also had no marketing skills and no sales/IG strategy.  I lacked the tools and confidence to show up for my business in the way it required.  My biggest challenge was not knowing what to post.  

 

Like most entrepreneurs, I was sceptical about working with a coach.  My doubts and concerns ranged from whether I would even achieve my goals with a coach.  Is it worth it?  How can I gain the necessary knowledge in such a short time?  Would the qualified service be compromised, given it's an online program?  I was plagued with many questions, but after my first meeting with Claire, I knew she was the perfect fit for me.  

What really made me decide to work with her is her passion and drive to see struggling entrepreneurs succeed.  I felt her genuine desire to see my business grow.  Claire saw my potential.  She used this as fuel to get me excited.  To me, this was her commitment to her craft, and it was the biggest incentive to me investing in my business and in myself as a whole.   I struggled daily to create content that was fully aligned with my brand.  Even worse, I was not attracting the right audience, as I was not sure how to speak to them.

 

Working with Claire helped me overcome all of the problems I experienced.  I am now able to show up with confidence, like the expert that I am.  I now know who I'm talking to when I enter the social media space.  I connect with my audience in a different way, as Claire has taught me how to align with them and how to communicate, effectively, with them.

She was easy to work with.  She listened intently and always gave feedback.  Claire did not stop at coaching calls.  She cheered me on in my posts and story.  She sent short, encouraging messages via WhatsApp and email to keep me going.  A part of my experience I will never forget is the manner in which Claire responded when I didn’t quite follow through on a post.  She was professional, graceful and tactful in how she expressed what could have been done or in what needed to do.  I so appreciated this.  I knew more than ever that Claire wanted me to win. 

 

I am most proud of the confidence to show up for my brand.  Most importantly, I’m excited to show up.  Claire’s knowledge and purposeful dedication to our sessions have equipped me up to win.  I could not have found a better coach to work with.  She has transformed the way I see marketing.  She has made me extremely excited for the future of my brand.

Before working with Claire, I struggled with identity - who I was trying to attract, who my ideal client was, and how to use the right messaging to reach them.  

 

What reservations (if any) did you have before working with me in general?  I was a bit worried that I wouldn’t be able to make the time needed to do the course and put it into action. 

 

I decided to work with Claire Taylor because right from the first conversation I felt that she could really help me get better at showing people what I do, how to attract my ideal client, and how to work with me.

Working with Claire Taylor was….Amazing - really enjoyable; she broke everything down that I didn’t understand and made it so much easier for me to show up on Instagram. That has made a big difference to my business - I became fully booked. I wasn’t clear on who I was before working with Claire - we had a few lightbulb moments that changed everything so that I could start being clear about what my business is and what I can offer. 

 

I just am really proud of the fact I was able to get ‘out there’ on Instagram and also actually enjoy it! I never thought I would be confident to make reels where people watch me at work. But now I do it all the time, and I get many messages of support from people who enjoy watching my reels. It’s made a big difference in how I work and interact with people on Instagram. It has given me a big confidence boost to be able to communicate with people about what I do and attract clients to me. I also became fully booked by working with Claire.

 

Claire isn’t just an expert in her field, she was like a total support system for the duration of the time I worked with her.  I definitely needed encouragement to market myself and once I started to see the results of working with her, it boosted me into doing more. In the same way people trust me to know what I’m doing in the workshop, I totally trust Claire when it comes to marketing and especially how to attract ideal clients.

Before working with Claire, I felt lost and a little overwhelmed by my online marketing. I didn’t have a clear strategy for what I was sharing, and it was becoming almost demoralising to keep showing up without any engagement in return.

My biggest challenge was that I felt I had to post all the time but had no clarity on who I was talking to and what I needed to say to connect with my ideal clients.

I was nervous that everything I’d done up until that point would be discarded. But what we actually did, was build on what I already had and then distilled the essence of what I do to focus my marketing efforts more effectively.

I decided to work with Claire Taylor because I needed help clarifying my message. I was overwhelmed with trying to overdo everything and wanted to simplify the process, so it was faster and gave me more time to actually create my art.

I needed to be able to reach my ideal clients and start building a relationship with them to create more sales.

​

Working with Claire was great. It was challenging at times but made me look back at some basics that I’d been avoiding.  The most immediate feeling was one of relief. After the first call, I felt like I’d been given a permission slip to take a breath and only to post content that had real meaning or was useful, rather than posting just to make sure I’d posted that day.

​

Claire made it clear what we would be working through each session and gave me follow-up activities to do between calls. Work which continues far beyond the end of the programme and will continuously help me improve my marketing.

The programme covered a lot and went far deeper than I was expecting! Claire helped me with several aspects of the marketing for Hannah Kate Makes, with a focus on my Instagram presence but also including my website, newsletters and even tempting me on to TikTok!

I’m most proud that I can now plan my social media posts for the month quickly, using my content strategy. This allows me to set a little time aside each week to batch-create my content with minimal fuss!

I really enjoyed my time working with Claire, and I hope to work with her again in the future.
